SLM TEAMS -- ORDERING
2009 AMERICAN RACER TIRES EC83 AND EC84 |
| Northern Race
Tires requests that tire requirements should be submitted the
Wednesday prior to the scheduled event. This will ensure that your
race tire needs will be picked and ready for mounting prior to the
gate opening. This procedure will not only expedite the mounting
procedure but will also provide you with a greater opportunity to
meet your tire requirements. Those teams that do not take advantage
of this procedure will subject themselves to selecting tires from
the available stock that is transported to the event. This is a
limited selection based upon the available space remaining on the
transporter.
Telephone your requests to Jack, Kirk, or Bill at
603-539-7221. |

| Naples ME (
8/3/2009) Scott McDaniel looked high and low for a way around race
leader Gary Norris in Sunday's 40 lap Pro All Stars Series (PASS)
Mod feature at Unity (ME) Raceway, and when the white flag unfurled
the young racer from Livermore Falls Maine found a way by Norris to
capture his first PASS Mod series feature win. McDaniel looked like
he had the car to beat from the get go and gave the fans plenty to
watch as he tried the outside and inside lines on Norris. It was
tight clean racing at its best for the full 40 laps as the pair
battled for the win.

Johnny Clark PASS North King Pin at
Lee USA Bastille 200;
Andy Shaw's the PASS Mod Winner |
LEE NH (7/14/2009) Johnny Clark grabbed
the race lead from Joey Pole on lap 123 of the Pro All Stars Series
(PASS) Bastille 200 and held off a green-white-checker challenge
from Louis Mechalides to earn his third PASS North super late model
win of 2009 at Lee USA Speedway Tuesday night. Mechalides settled
for runner-up and Cassius Clark scored his first podium appearance
since April, finishing third. Matt Frahm earned a career best
fourth, and Eddie MacDonald completed the top five.
Clark's key to victory came when the front runners came down pit
road for fuel and a two-tire change on lap 117. Mechalides won his
heat race and started from the pole, and the infrequent PASS
competitor was the class of the field In the Cat Scales 1C. Clark
had worked his way to second from eleventh on the grid and his team
got him out front of the pack that pitted, while Mechalides came out
seventh. The quick stop resulted in Clark lining up fifth on the
restart and Mechalides back in the pack, fifteenth.
Mechalides made a second stop
during a quick caution and on the restart Clark quickly worked past
Joey Pole to take over the top spot. Meanwhile Mechalides was
weaving his way through the field, cracking the top five on lap 147
as the race stayed under green. It was Clark, Pole, Cassius Clark,
Derek Ramstrom and Mechalides with fifty to go, and at lap 172
Mechalides took over second. Clark had built up a considerable lead
but a skirmish that collected Travis Benjamin, Michael Pope and DJ
Shaw on lap 198 gave Mechalides one last shot at the leader. Clark
kept his cool and got a great restart, leaving Mechalides to settle
for second.

Adam Bates took over the race lead from Scott Chubbuck just past
half way in Friday night's Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North 150 lap
super late model feature to score his third career series win, his
second at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. The Granite State racer had a
car that could dominate and the talent to take advantage of it in a
race that was short on cautions and featured a 115 lap stretch of
green flag racing. Bates now has two wins and two second place
finishes in the last four PASS races at Beech Ridge dating back to
July of 2008.

| Shaw Charges to Lee USA
PASS Mod Win |
NAPLES ME
(June 6) Andy Shaw drove from the back of the pack to
the front to capture his second Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Mod
series win of 2009 Friday night at Lee (NH) USA Speedway. Shaw
battled visiting North Carolina super late model star Jay Fogleman
and Sulo Burbank for the win in the first of a four race Twin State
Series for the open wheelers.
Shaw and his team were fortunate to be in the feature at all. The
rear end in their race car blew up in practice but they were able to
borrow another from a fellow competitor, swap them out, and run
second in their qualifying race. But the work wasn't over then; the
team had holed a radiator in the heat and had to make another hasty
swap before feature time. Shaw, Dave Weir and the entire 66 team
proved that once again, hard work and perseverance pay off at the
race track.
Sulo Burbank had luck on his side as well. After his best PASS Mod
finish of the season in third, the team discovered a broken hub held
in place only by the wheel after giving the Lee USA concrete a tap
midway through the feature.
Unofficially, Shaw vaults from third to first in the PASS Mod points
standings after four races. Jerry Harrison held the top spot going
into the race but a hard trip into the turn one wall resulted in a
12th place finish and second place points man Scott Grant came home
seventh. The top three were only separated by three points prior to
the Lee USA event.

Sunoco Returns as the Official Fuel
of the Pro All Stars Series |
|
Naples
ME
(March 26) Change is constant in motorsports.
Its one of the few things every racer and race fan can count
on. It's unusual to see long term relationships in the sport, but
for the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) , there's been one fuel in every
racer's fuel cell since it's inception.
Sunoco Race
Fuels and their distributor New England Racing Fuel have been on
board since that first PASS Super Late Model race at Lee USA
Speedway in 2001. Their Sunoco Standard and Supreme products are
back as the official fuel of PASS for a ninth season. |
|
"John Holland,
Charlie Holland and Mike Joy of New England Racing Fuel were one of
the first to step up to the plate and support our series," said
series President Tom Mayberry. "They taught us how to control the
cost of race fuel by testing fuel samples at our events, and they
have assisted us in every way possible throughout our relationship. They're good friends of PASS, as well as
motorsports in general. We are proud to represent Sunoco once
again in 2009." Visit New England Racing Fuel on line at
www.newenglandracingfuel.com or dial 1-860-673-9555.
