Pluffybilt Racing Tractors to Sponsor PASS
Sportsman Series
Two Intense Types of
Racing Come Together for 2008
Saco, Maine (March 31, 2008) A true racer will try to get the best
performance out of anything that they get behind the wheel of, whether
it is a race car, their street vehicle or even a lawn tractor.
The next step after just going fast is to get another racer also pushing
the limits. When you have that, you have yourself a race…and soon a
racing series.
So it is only natural that one of the fastest growing racing tours in
New England has joined forces with one of the most unique and hardcore
racing entities out there. In 2008, the Pro ALL Stars Series (PASS)
Sportsman Series will be backed by Pluffybilt Racing Tractors.
In just one season, the PASS Sportsman Series has already become known
for its close competition, high car counts and ability to attract weekly
competitors from many area tracks to touring series events. In the same
time, Pluffybilt Racing Tractors has been part of a movement that has
taken Southern Maine motorsports by storm with bi-weekly lawnmower
racing as part of the North Saco Lawn Mower Racing Association league in
North Saco, Maine.
Pluffybilt was founded in 2007 by Bruce Plouffe and former SP2
Motorsports team owners Scott Pullen and Steve Perry, to field a team of
racing tractors for the North Saco races. The team, which is also
referred to as SP2 Mowersports, is housed in the same shop where stock
cars driven by Mike Rowe, Kyle Busch and Brad Leighton were once
prepared.
Now, among the trophies for PASS Super Late Model race wins up and down
the East Coast, sits a gaggle of racing lawnmowers. In 2007, Team
Pluffybilt fielded a total of twelve different mowers that won five
feature events and took the top two positions in the stock division
series championship, with Perry winning the series championship by a
slight margin over Plouffe.
Plouffe is no stranger to stock car racing. He has been a fan of the
sport for years and is now excited to become more involved in it.
“After being able to present the trophies for the Pullen Heavy
Industries PASS Sportsman race at Beech Ridge in the fall, I wanted to
become more involved with the series,” said Plouffe. “PASS has a great
group of competitors, officials and fans in all of its divisions and I
know how competitive this particular division is. We’re very proud to
team up for this year.”
And with racers being racers, the link between PASS racing and the
lawnmower events is a close one. In September, a special PASS drivers
lawnmower race was held for charity. A roster of drivers that included
Mike Rowe, Ben Rowe, Cassius Clark, Johnny Clark, Richie Dearborn, Scott
Chubbuck, Alan Tardiff, Chris Kennison and Tony Ricci all showed up to
compete.
“When guys like the Rowes and the Clarks came out to run an exhibition
lawnmower race, that really got people talking about what we do,” said
Plouffe. “We were really proud too that when Mike Rowe won that night,
he did it on a Pluffybilt Tractor.
The weekly lawnmower races also have a racing connection. Team owners
Steve Perry, Scott Pullen and Mike Lux all competed in the series in
2007, along with a number of weekly Beech Ridge Motor Speedway
competitors.
Mike Rowe could also be found driving the pace tractor at the races on
several occasions.
The Pluffybilt Racing Tractors PASS Sportsman Series will start its 2008
season on April 19th at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway in Scarborough,
Maine.

PASS Sportsman Back On Track for 2008
Naples ME - After a remarkable inaugural season the
Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Pullen Heavy Industries Sportsman division
will return in 2008 with a seven race confirmed schedule that will see
the popular class in action at four Maine and New Hampshire speedways.
Their 2008 campaign gets underway on April 19th at
Beech Ridge Speedway, and returns to the Scarborough Maine oval on
September 19-21 for the big PASS 400 weekend. Sportsman racers will make
the drive to Speedway 95 on May 3rd for their only 2008 appearance at
the Hermon Maine speed plant. Two trips to Wiscasset (ME) Raceway are
on tap for June 15th and August 17th. All Star Speedway in Epping NH
rounds out the confirmed schedule with a June 27th date. The season's grand
finale championship event will be on October 11th at Riverside Speedway
in Groveton, NH.
Seventy-six racers attempted to qualify for one or
more PASS Sportsman division events in 2007, a tremendous turnout for a
new touring series by any measure. But PASS President Tom Mayberry
wasn't surprised by the popularity of the new division, or by the level
of competition it provided." Honestly, I think some of the best racers
in the northeast race this type of car at their home tracks," said
Mayberry," and I felt that they deserved to get out to a few new tracks
to showcase their talents. The Sportsman division provided some of the
closest competition of any PASS division in 2007, and I expect more of
the same for 2008."
The 2008 PASS Sportsman division rules are
available now by visiting www.proallstarsseries.com. For further
information contact Scott Reed at 207-625-3230 between the hours of 6:00
PM and 9:00 PM.

PULLEN Sportsman Put On
an All Star Show at All-Star
(Naples,
ME – October 6, 2007) The PASS Sportsman cars rolled out for their
75-lap feature with the 35X of Kris Watson and the #40 of Mike
Landry on the front row with points leaders Dan McKeage in the #38
and Jerry Harrison in the #48H in the second row.
Things change quickly in PASS Sportsman racing,
and before they made it to turn two Watson pushed up taking Landry
and Harrison high with him, and McKeage was the leader by the time
they hit the backstretch. Several cars, including Landry, had to
pit.
McKeage and Harrison were out front with Justin
Karkos in the #18 settling in at third. Everything changed again on
lap 14 when McKeage had a flat right front in front of the entire
field sending everyone scrambling to avoid the slowing #38.
On the restart, it was Karkos and Landry with Harrison and
the #03 of local All Star competitor Tony Carroll right behind.
At the 25 lap mark, it was Landry in cruise
control, Harrison, the #47 of Nate Weston, the #35 of Bobby Nadeau,
the #55X of Kurt Hewins fifth. At lap 47, the
“Traveling Man” Pete Fiandaca in his legendary #135 orange coupe
went around in turn three bringing out the yellow.
At the 50 lap mark, it was still Landry out
front in the great looking #40, followed by Weston, Harrison,
Carroll, the 2007 All Star Speedway Super Street Champion Ron Bolduc
in the #95 after battling his way into the top five, and McKeage
back up to sixth after visiting the pits.
The first shower of the night hit on lap 60
bringing out a yellow, but the cars kept the track dry and after a
15 minute delay they went back green for the finish. Weston tried
Landry on the outside for several laps, but the #40 was too strong
and Weston was forced to fall in line ahead of Harrison, McKeage,
Bolduc, and Carroll.
McKeage was strong on the outside, and over the
last ten laps passed Harrison for third and added two points to his
lead going into the season finale on Sunday afternoon October 14th
at White Mountain
Motorsports
Park, N., Woodstock, NH as part of the
big two-day PASS Championship Weekend.
Landry took the checkers at lap 75, followed by
Weston, McKeage, Harrison, Bolduc, and Carroll.

Charges To First PASS Super Sportsman Victory at Riverside
On Saturday, June 30th, New
Hampshire's Riverside Speedway played host to the PASS Pullen Super
Sportsman series for the newly formed series inaugural season along
with the speedway's regular race card. An Independence Day fireworks
display concluded the evening's activities.
Freeport Maine's Jerry Harrison
charged to the front from his 7th place starting position to take
the lead on lap 17 and drive to his first victory of the 2007
season.
Riverside's own Jeff Marshall
backed up his impressive qualifier win with a solid 2nd place finish
after multiple runs at Harrison.
Nate Weston stayed consistent and
steady and rounded out the events podium finishers in third
position.
The event was slowed by 5 cautions
with the final coming at lap 19 of the 75 contest.
Series point leader Dan McKeage
rebounded back from a lap 16 altercation to place 4th with Hermon
Maine's Kris Watson completing the top 5.
Harrison's Victory was his first
race at the Groveton, New Hampshire racing surface.
The next Pullen Super Sportsman
series next will be at Canaan Speedway in Canaan, New Hampshire on
September 3rd along with the PASS Outlaw Late Models and PASS MODS.

SPORTSMEN SHOW UP IN
FORCE AT UNITY on 6/17
Everywhere that you looked in the pit area at Unity, there were PASS
Pullen Heavy Industries Sportsmen cars. There were enough cars to run
two consi races and in the second event ever for the tour, the future is
looking bright.
Just like in the series’ inaugural race at Speedway 95 earlier this
year, Dan McKeage was the race winner. This time, he finished ahead of
Nate Weston, Mike Clark and Joey Doiron.
Doiron’s top five was particularly impressive. The teenager is a rookie
in the Sports Series at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway (ME) and decided on
Sunday morning to come to Unity and make his PASS debut without the
extra day of practice that most teams enjoyed on Saturday afternoon.

Scott Pullen, owner of Pullen Heavy Industries. To show his support
he has, not only come on board as the Title Sponsor for the
Sportsman Series, he has also offered contingency awards at each of
the seven (7) races this year. He is sponsoring a weekly Hardcharger
Award for the amount of $100.00. The Hardcharger award will be
awarded to the driver that improves the most positions from his
original starting spot by the end of the race. He is also sponsoring
a weekly award for the driver that leads the most laps in a feature
event in the amount of $100.00.
“This is where a lot of today’s Super Late Model drivers began their
careers, so hopefully some of the next batch of the SLM drivers will
come from this division,” said Scott. Most of the drivers from this
division have in fact, come from racing their local track week in
and week out. The PASS 400 weekend at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway
(Scarborough, Maine) September 22nd and 23rd has become a staple
among the Pro All Stars Series Schedule, offering great racing over
the course of the weekend in all the different divisions. This is
one reason Pullen Heavy Industries is looking forward to being the
title sponsor for the Sportsman race on the great weekend.
The way the schedule was designed for 2007 it will allow for most
drivers to race both the Sportsman Series and run for the
Championship at their local track. With that possibility, Pullen
Heavy Industries has also put out an award, totaling $500.00, for
the driver who can win two championships in 2007. One requirement is
that the driver must win the PASS Sportsman Series championship and
win a championship in any other division at their local track. For
instance if the champion in the PASS Sportsman Series is also the
champion at his local track in any division, he would earn this
special bonus. This is a big deal for many drivers and also for
Pullen Heavy Industries. They have stepped up in a big way for 2007
and PASS is thrilled to have them on board.
The Pullen Heavy Industries Sportsman Series kicks off its 2007
season on May 27th at Speedway 95 located in Hermon, Maine.
Remember, the Pro All Stars Series opens the 2007 season at Beech
Ridge Motor Speedway on April 21.
